2023 Newcomer’s Social
This year our Newcomer’s Social for incoming kindergarten parents and all over new Whitman families will be generously hosted by the Sondhi Family. This is a great opportunity for incoming kindergarten parents and all those new to Walt Whitman to mingle with other new parents.

June PTA Meeting & Awards
| Join us this Wednesday June 7th at 7:30pm for our LAST PTA Meeting of the year! We have a great meeting planned! We will share some final updates, approve our last budget & conduct a vote of confidence on our summer budget so that we can start planning a VERY exciting return to school. Then, we will welcome our new executive board with an installation and wrap up with our PTA Awards. After the awards, please join us at MOCA Asian Bistro for some fun! Please note: As with any meeting it is important to continue to exercise respect and civility. A gentle reminder that absolutely no individual teachers, staff, parents or children’s names can be mentioned during our meeting. Mixology Fundraiser
We are once again teaming up with Mixology Woodbury for a PTA sponsored fundraiser. Shop Mixology THIS THURSDAY, May 4th and a percentage of all purchases made will be donated to the Walt Whitman PTA (be sure to mention us while shopping!). Any questions, reach out to Tara Bensol.
PLANTING Day!
On Tuesday, May 16th, our students will be helping beautify the Walt Whitman grounds with the remaining plants from our plant sale. Each class will have the opportunity to plant flowers outside the school. Volunteers will be needed – the sign up sheet will be blasted in the next few weeks. Plant Sale
Our annual plant sale is Friday, May 12th. Be on the lookout for volunteer sign ups. See the flyer below for more details. Please contact Michelle Kim with any questions.
Fun Fair 2023
Our annual Fun Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, April 26th from 6-8pm (rain date Friday, April 28th). Admission is FREE but please RSVP (non-Whitman siblings welcome) so we have a better idea of numbers. We are asking for raffle donations for our baskets. We created an Amazon wish-list to make it easy to donate and have your gift mailed directly.
Should you prefer to donate an item not on the wish-list; please reach out to Heather Egert to coordinate drop off. Please see the information letter below for additional details, as well as the theme for each class. There is still time to join the committee. To help with planning, please contact Cara Kaplan.
